FMP-web is a list devoted to discussion of issues related to the database webserver aspects of FMP. The topics which are appropriate are those specific to these issues. General Filemaker issues may occasionally need to be discussed if it is in relation to a web server implementation. Other general issues are better discussed on other lists. PLEASE, no extended off topic rants about things not relevant to list focus.

The participants range from relative novices to developers, and all appropriate topics are encouraged. Remember, we are all ignorant- just about different things. Archives of the list are available at:

PLEASE IDENTIFY THE TOPIC OF YOUR POST IN THE SUBJECT HEADER TO ASSIST THOSE MEMBERS WHO SCREEN BY HEADERS!

FMP-web Talk uses REPLY TO headers which cause all replies to be sent to the WHOLE LIST. If you want to contact a member privately, do not just send a reply, compose another message manually to the member's address.

This is not a moderated list. However, appropriate language and respect for others is required. If there are inappropriate postings (e.g. foul language, attacks on other list members etc.) the offending list member will be warned or removed permanently depending upon the situation. This list is maintained as a service to others with similar interests.

Only members can post to the list, AND ONLY from the email address that is subscribed to the list.

DO NOT post messages to the list complianing of what you consider to be inappropriate postings by others. This does nothing but start bickering threads. It is my job to run the list. If you have a concern about some aspect of the list, please contact me directly.

A NOTE TO DEVELOPERS:

If you wish to announce a product that is likely to have direct appeal to list members (i.e. it is a filemaker related product) I am generally receptive to allowing it to be posted. However, I do expect to be contacted prior to such commmercial postings. Once I am familiar with you and your products this may not be necessary. Posting of unrelated products or repeated beta announcements is not acceptable.
